[ARCHIVE] Boulder River Report 09/03/18
As with the Stillwater, flows on the Boulder have dropped and warmed. The forks may still kick in some occasional off color water due to thunderstorms, so flows will be clearer, but swift and high, up above Natural Bridge. Nymphing along the edges is always a good bet with a beadhead fly like a prince nymph, hare’s ear, batman, copper john or pheasant tail. Fish are also eating the big dry fly like a Chubby, stimulator, Jack Cabe or PMX. Use a dropper nymph off of it like a pheasant tail. Up high in cutthroat water, fish some smaller dries like a purple haze, parachute adams or royal wulff too.
