[ARCHIVE] Yellowstone River Report 7/24/2017

The Yellowstone has dropped significantly and is starting to clear. It’s still not quite optimal in clarity but is definitely fishable. Dark colored buggers as well as the Grinch dead drifted under an indicator has been a good producer. Rubber leg nymphs like a girdle bug drifted along the bank water have been working too. As it starts to come around, look to fish the big dry and dropper nymph. Start throwing hopper and large dry fly patterns like Chubby Chernobyls, Jack Cabe, PMXs, Yeti Hoppers and Yellowstoner Chubbys. If getting out early to beat the heat, try throwing streamers early.
